Quick Guide

Getting Started

  • Open Byku and tap Start to begin a ride.
  • To connect power meters, first activate your meter (e.g., by turning the cranks) and then press the connect button on the main screen
  • Byku uses GPS for speed and distance, and Bluetooth for power meters.

Key Metrics

  • Speed & Distance: GPS‑based, filtered for stability.
  • Power & Cadence: From your connected power meter.
  • Energy: kJ (mechanical) or kcal (estimated), selectable in Settings.

Auto‑Pause

Auto‑Pause stops the timer and distance when you’re not moving and resumes automatically when you do.
Enable it in Settings → Ride.

Stationary Mode

For indoor rides. Hides speed/distance/elevation but keeps time and power.
Enable in Settings → Display.

Advanced Metrics (Pro)

  • Weighted Power (NP)
  • Relative Intensity (IF)
  • Training Stress Score (TSS)
  • The Minute (best 60‑second average)

Unlock via Settings → Pro.


FAQ

How accurate are speed and distance?

Byku filters GPS to reduce spikes and early drift. Accuracy improves after the GPS stabilizes.

Why do some advanced metrics show 0?

Advanced metrics require recent power data. Make sure your power meter is connected and transmitting.

How is energy calculated?

  • kJ is computed directly from power.
  • kcal is estimated using your metabolic efficiency setting.

What is Auto‑Pause?

Auto‑Pause stops the ride timer and distance when you’re not moving, and resumes automatically.

What is Stationary Workout Mode?

It hides speed/distance/elevation for indoor or stationary sessions.

What is Byku Max?

A one‑time unlock that enables advanced power metrics and The Minute.

How do I restore a purchase?

Go to Settings → Byku Max → Restore Purchases.

Does Byku store my data?

Yes, achievements are stored on device, no cloud storage.
